Ed Smith Books has specialized in literary first editions, signed books, photographs, screen and theater related material since 1980. Ed Smith is a member of the ABAA (Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America) since 1995, having twice served on their Board of Governors.
He has published a newsletter on the author Charles Bukowski and has appraised the archive of Hunter S Thompson (1997) and produced a signed limited edition with Dr. Thompson. He also produced a one-hour documentary film for the ABAA in 2003. Ed Smith, and his appraisal partner Ellen Boughn (Associate Member American Society of Appraisers, ASA) appraise books and photographs.
