(Melba Berry Bennett was a scholar, poet, writer and bibliophile. She was invited by Robinson Jefferes to do his authorized biography, a work fueled by admiration and respect. She was awarded the California Commonwealth Club's Silver Medal in 1966 for the Jeffers Bibliography). Hollander was a German born film composer and author. He wrote music scores for over 100 films including Destry Rides Again (1939), A Foreign Affair (1948), The 5000 Fingers of Dr T (Academy Award Nomination 1952), and Sabrina (1954). Overall he was nominated for 4 Oscars. Many of his songs were made famous by Marlene Dietrich. As an author, this was his first novel, with a dust jacket designed by his second wife, Hedi Schoop. A fine copy in a very good bright jacket with some spine sunning and a chip at spine crown. Solid very clean copy. Item #13366
