A collection of 16 of Baskin's drawings that includes "After Leonardo," "The Torment of Rembrandt,""The Torment of Albrecht Durer," and "The Torment of Michelangelo," among others. In addition to the drawings of the classic artists, this volume contains illustrations of naturally frightening creatures as well as fictional monsters. Baskin printed these illustrations on multicoloroed textured leaves at the Gehenna Press, a private printing press that he founded in 1942 while studying at Yale. Bound in grey paper wrappers, string-tied, with the publisher's original slipcase, with cover label, as issued. A nearly fine copy in a very good slipcase (sticker removed from front cover).
