New York: Gaer Associates Inc, (1949). First edition. Hardcover. Foreword by Thomas I. Emerson. Rogge, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney General lays out the facts, inch by inch, of the destruction of our civil liberties. The author takes us into courtrooms, into Loyalty Board hearings and the House Committee chamber. He show us how certain officials degrade the name of liberty and distort the Constitution to which they are sworn (I wonder what Mr Rogge would think today, in 2019, of our current state of affairs?). 287pp. A very good copy with an inch by a half-inch old dampstain to the middle of the top of the front board, in a very good plus excellent dust jacket with one rubbed spot close to bottom of spine.
