One of 250 numbered sets (#99) signed by the author on a limitation page tipped in to the third-volume "Legends of the Fall'. Measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. The tale of three brothers and their father living in the wilderness and plains of Montana in the early 20th century and how their lives are affected by nature, history, war, and love. Basis for the big screen film directed by Edward Zwick with a screenplay by Bill Wittiff and Susan Shilliday that starring Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt and Aiden Quinn. The film won an Oscar for John Toll for Best Cinematography, and was nominated for Best Art and Set Direction as well as Best Sound. All three volumes bound in light tan cloth over boards with bronze lettering on spine, not issued with dust jackets. Housed in a thick cardboard illustrated slipcase with a John Thompson illustration on the front panel. This first collection of novellas is dedicated to Guy and Jack (Guy de la Valdene and Jack Nicholson). The books are nearly fine and bright with easily read spine titles, the slipcase is darkened and has some irregular sunning but no tears. Item #14543
