TIMOR MORTIS.

New York: Walker & Co, 1986. First edition. Hardcover. Harriss won the Edgar Award with his mystery novel ‘Bay Psalm Book Murder Mystery’. This copy, the sequel to his Edgar winning book is inscribed by Harriss to mystery writer Mark Schorr, who was a finalist for the same Edgar Award that Harriss won in 1984 (for The Bay Psalm Book Murder Mystery). The inscription refers to Schorr’s detective, ‘Red Diamond’: “Best wishes to Mark Schorr, a genuine Red Diamond of a writer, MQ, and friend. Will Harriss. New Otani Hotel, July 27, 1986.” The title of Schorr’s book was ‘Red Diamond, Private Eye.” A truly nice association linking two nominees for the same Edgar Award (best first mystery). The book is near fine in a near fine dust jacket with a new price sticker ($15.95) covering the printed flap price. Item #14556
