Item #14858 SUBWAY. Bruce Davidson.

Los Angeles: St. Ann's Press, 2003. Reprint. Hardcover. Originally published in 1986. Signed by Bruce Davidson. "During my year in the subway 1980-1981, I carried two Canon T-90 cameras, generally using a 17 mm f/4.0, 24 mm f/1.4, 50mm f/2.0 and 100 mm f/20. Attached to the camera was a Sunpak strobe with its 510 volt battery pack. I used a 30 magenta filter over the lens, and a 30 green gel over the flash head for any of the photographs made underground under flourescent light. I usually bounced the strobe off the ceilings or walls of the cars. When I needed the ambient light in the dark background to match the flash at a close distance, I used the strobe with a weakend intensity to obtain wide apertures with slow shutter speeds. I worked alone except for one photograph when I needed a heavy tripod and a step ladder. All the photographs were made on Kodachrome 64. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. Item #14858
