The everyday lives of a number of Los Angeles residents are the subject of this loosely-knitted collection of short stories, or events, based on the short stories of Raymond Carver. Altman was nomindated for the best Director Oscar, and the film won an America Comedy Award, Alman did win the Bodil for Best American Film, both Altman and Barhydt won the BSFC Award for Best Screenplay, a lot of the actors in the film won Special Golden Globe Awards, the film won several Spirit Awards, and many others. Carver was a master at exploring the neurotic undercurrents of urban dwellers with characters that are immersed in the Everyday where the repetitive force of the mundane has them mired in the mechanics of living; house-sitting, birthday parties, beer buddy fishing trips, boredom, initiation of an affair, two pals cruising looking for a thrill. And this ensemble cast captured the stories on film, under the direction of a master, Robert Altman. A near fine copy. Item #ESB11156
