A Two-Page AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED From Clive Barker to Editor J. N. Williamson.

n.p. n.p., n.d. First edition. Autographed Letter Signed. Written entirely in black ink by Barker (including his name and return address at the top) on two plain 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of paper, the letter is undated but discussion of Williamson's forthcoming anthology "Masques" which was published in 1984, places the time around that date. In turning down the chance to contribute to that anthology, Barker gives a snapshot of his current writing life: "My present labours are three-fold: preparing Volumes 4, 5 and 6 of Blood for June publication over here, and final editing chores on my novel The Damnation Game -- which Weidenfeld and Nicholson are publishing in hardcover next year; in addition, a horror-thriller film noir which I have recently finished scripting goes before the cameras on January 7th, with all the tinkering and re-shaping that that implies!" Barker goes on to discuss his agent and someone apparently pretending to be his agent. In closing Barker admits that "next year looks to be more hectic still than this" but maintains that "I have a fund of tales simmering in my brain-pan, awaiting the time and opportunity to become print." Nearly 400 words in all, signed "Clive." Included is a letter of provenance from the recipient dated 1989. Fine. Item #ESB11821
