I LIVED TO TELL IT ALL.

Norwalk: Easton Press, 1996. First edition. Hardcover. One of 1500 numbered copies signed by country legend George Jones, also signed by him on the certificate laid in. Inset color photograph of Jones with his guitar to front cover. Jones, born in 1931, was a country musician, singer and songwriter, who achieved international fame for his long list of hit records (over 150) as well as his distinctive voice and phrasing. He is generally regarded as one of the greatest vocalists in the history of country music. He was also infamous for his alcoholism, cocaine addiction, missed concert dates ("No Show Jones"), and his general unmanageability. Perhaps his most important recording, "He Stopped Loving Her Today," which has been named in several surveys as the greatest country song of all time (1980), is a song about a man who stopped loving the love of his life, only reason he stopped was because he died. Jones died this year (2013). A fine copy in full brown leather with gilt lettering and decorations, a.e.g., ribbon marker. Item #ESB12481
